How to get to Ajdovščina
The closest airport to Ajdovščina is the Trieste Airport in Italy. However, the itinerary from the Ljubljana airport to Ajdovščina is simpler. Another option is to fly to Venice Airport.

By taxi
Taxis are available in front of the airport. Price for a taxi ride to Ajdovščina (103 km) should be on the order of 100 EUR.
By bus
Ljubljana-airport →(bus or shuttle, 31 km)→ Ljubljana, change bus, Ljubljana →(bus, 90 km)→ Ajdovščina
At the airport take either the bus or the shuttle to Ljubljana (shuttle timetable). There take the bus to Nova Gorica (the bus-platform number is typically 12, but it may occasionally change) and buy a ticket to Ajdovščina (bus ticket can be bought on the bus). Get off at Ajdovščina. The price of bus tickets for both rides is 12.40 EUR (i.e., 4.10 + 8.30 EUR). The price for the airport to Ljubljana shuttle is 9 EUR.

From Trieste-Airport to Ajdovščina
By taxi
Taxis are available outside the passenger terminal daily, between 08:00 and 24:00. Price for a taxi ride to Ajdovščina (51 km) should be on the order of 100 EUR.
By bus
Trieste-airport →(bus, 25 km)→ Gorizia →(taxi, 5 km)→ Nova Gorica →(bus, 25 km)→ Ajdovščina

From Venice-Airport to Ajdovščina
By train & bus
Venice-airport →(bus, 25 min)→ Venezi Mestre →(train, 2h)→ Gorizia →(taxi, 5 km)→ Nova Gorica →(bus, 25 km)→ Ajdovščina
- Take either bus or shuttle from the Venice airport to Venezia Mestre railway station. Info about the bus/shuttle is avaiable here.
- At Venezia Mestre railway
station take a direct train to
Gorizia. Another option is to take a
train to Trieste, but then you need to change the
train in Monfalcone. You can get the info about the

Optional: special shuttle service provided by the school
Given that the local transportation options from the Trieste and Venice airports to Ajdovščina are not very convenient, organizers may optionally provide a special shuttle either from Trieste airport or from Goriza railway/bus station to Ajdovščina on Sunday evening (31 January), and from Ajdovščina to the airport either on Friday or Saturday (12/13 February), depending on the needs.
